Hello, readers! Welcome back for another installment of Daily Dead’s Salutes Your Shorts column, where we celebrate horror-centric short-form storytelling from all over the world. For our first April short film round-up, we have on tap Frigid by Joe Kicak (which any new moms out there might appreciate), Mulberry Night by the Mountain North Pictures collaborative, and Nick Hagen’s very timely Selfie.

Synopsis: Exhausted by her newborn, a first-time mother's home becomes a trap as her husband's sinister intentions emerge.
Mulberry Night (Directed by Mountain North Pictures)
Synopsis: Mulberry Night is our first horror short film which follows John who lives in a suburban neighborhood with his girlfriend Gina. Gina is working the night shift and John has the house to himself and the events that unravel are eerie and scary to say the least.
Selfie (Directed by Nick Hagen)
Synopsis: An iPhone horror short film.
Heather A. Wixson was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, until she followed her dreams and moved to Los Angeles in 2009. A 14-year veteran in the world of horror entertainment journalism, Wixson fell in love with genre films at a very early age, and has spent more than a decade as a writer and supporter of preserving the history of horror and science fiction cinema. Throughout her career, Wixson has contributed to several notable websites, including Fangoria, Dread Central, Terror Tube, and FEARnet, and she currently serves as the Managing Editor for Daily Dead, which has been her home since 2013. She's also written for both Fangoria Magazine & ReMind Magazine, and her latest book project, Monsters, Makeup & Effects: Volume One will be released on October 20, 2021.
