Last year, it looked like Hellraiser would see a big screen reboot courtesy of Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer, but the project fell through. Since then, we haven't heard much about the future of Hellraiser, but we now have information on a Hellraiser TV series that is currently in development.

The news started over at Variety who reported that RHI Entertainment has recently been rebranded as Sonar Entertainment and has a slate of upcoming projects. One of the projects listed was a Hellraiser TV series. A quick search led us to the following text and image from the Sonar website:

"One of the most successful (and terrifying) franchises in film history is ready for its weekly television debut.

For over 25 years, fans have followed the exploits of an insidious villain named Pinhead, summoned from a nightmarish underworld by an ancient puzzle box. He will seduce you with power and tempt you with fear, until your soul belongs to him.

Now, for the first time, a weekly series set in the fantastic realm of Hellraiser will thrill audiences worldwide."

This is a very early announcement, so there no information on possible networks and creative talents involved. We doubt that Clive Barker is involved at this point, as he recently revealed that he's developing a Nightbreed TV series and didn't mention anything about this. We're also curious about where this leaves the Weinsteins' plans for a Hellraiser reboot movie.

**Updated: We've included the sales sheets below, courtesy of Forces of Geek. The text mentions the fact that they are looking to create a 13-episode first season, with each episode running an hour in length.
