Check out this clip from Peter Strickland's In Fabric about a divorcee who encounters a beautiful albeit cursed red dress. Also in today's Horror Highlights: Crowdfunder details for Neon Horror Zine, production details for the new DUST sci-fi series Alt, and a new poster as well as release details for Zombie with a Shotgun.

Watch a Clip from In Fabric: "SYNOPSIS: A lonely woman (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), recently separated from her husband, visits a bewitching London department store in search of a dress that will transform her life. She’s fitted with a perfectly flattering, artery-red gown—which, in time, will come to unleash a malevolent curse and unstoppable evil, threatening everyone who comes into its path.

From acclaimed horror director Peter Strickland (the singular auteur behind the sumptuous sadomasochistic romance The Duke of Burgundy and auditory Giallo-homage Berberian Sound Studio) comes a truly nightmarish film, at turns frightening, seductive, and darkly humorous. Channeling voyeuristic fantasies of high fashion and bloodshed, In Fabric is Strickland’s most twisted and brilliantly original vision yet.

Neon Horror Zine Crowdfunder Details: "We are Jessica and Jonas Holt and we are part of the inclusive horror collective Artemisia’s Axe and the Corpse’s Tongue based out of our shop The Haunted Bouncy Castle, in Glasgow, UK. We are queer horror creators ourselves and have been reaching out to members of the horror community like you, to ask for possible promotion of our first anthology Crowdfunder, which is LGBTQ+ horror creator-focused.

Back in pride month, we put out the call for creators from the LGBTQ+ community to contribute their brightest horror work to our first anthology: Neon Horror. We received an absolute treasure trove of applications, from short stories and flash fiction to illustrations of diverse styles and techniques, which showed the many different approaches members of our community can take to share their stories in this genre we love.

It is this diversity we seek to support with this anthology, not only by paying our creators more for their excellent work, but also by donating proceeds from our crowdfunding campaign and subsequent sales to the LGBTQ+ charities Mermaids UK and TIE Campaign who are both doing essential work for LGBTQ+ youth and the education of our communities.

With your support we can get closer to our goal of paying these wonderful creators more, donate to charities that support our community and enrich the horror community.

Alt Begins Production: "Gunpowder & Sky’s sci-fi label DUST announced today that it has begun production in Albuquerque and Edgewood, New Mexico on a new sci-fi series, “Alt”, directed by Trevor Stevens (Rock Steady Row) and starring Catherine Parker (“The Haunting of Hill House”, Lapham Rising), Sam Anderson (Forrest Gump, Water For Elephants), Joseph Lee Anderson (Harriet, "American Soul"), Travis Hammer ("Godless", "Ray Donovan"), Shiva Negar (American Assassin) and Jan Uddin ("Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", "Injustice"). The production will last 23 days in the area, has employed 68 New Mexico residents, and will utilize an Albuquerque production office for nearly three months.

“Alt” is a sci-fi spin-off series based on the award-winning short film, GLOW, created and directed by Douglas Jessup, which premiered on Gunpowder & Sky’s sci-fi channel DUST. The 10-episode series started production in New Mexico on November 10th.

“DUST” has quickly become a breeding ground for the best creative minds in sci-fi, and it’s exciting to be working with DUST talent and developing their ideas into longer-form series and films,” said Jude Harris, SVP of Development & Production, Gunpowder & Sky.

While treading heavily into the paranormal, everything in “Alt” is rooted in reality. It’s a story of ordinary folks pulled into an extraordinary situation. Taking place in rural Appalachia in a one-stoplight town populated by salt-of-the-earth-type townsfolk, the series follows a young heroine Val, played by Parker, who returns home to investigate her father’s bizarre disappearance. As she follows the clues further down the rabbit hole, Val and her friends will need a crash-master-course in advanced scientific theory and spiritual mysticism to solve the mystery.

The project is being produced by Barry Barclay, Tara Billik and Jude Harris at Gunpowder & Sky with Nick Phillips."

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
