Continuing the steady flow of Machete Kills updates we've been reporting on this week, it has been revealed that Modern Family's Sofia Vergara will be the newest addition to the cast. According to Variety, she is in talks to play "the leather-clad Madame Desdemona, whose Mexican harlots have information that Machete needs".
The current cast list includes Michelle Rodriguez, Mel Gibson, Demian Bichir, Amber Heard, and Jessica Alba. We expect that we'll have a few more cast additions to report on as well. Machete Kills begins filming this month in Texas, and pits Danny Trejo against Mel Gibson in a fight to save the world:
“The new film finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space.
