While not really a secret, given the teaser video and leaked logo earlier this week, EA has officially announced that Dead Space 3 will be one of the titles shown off at this year's E3 Expo. The first gameplay footage will be released next week, but some leaked screenshots have made their way online and we have them for you to check out.
The screenshots below confirm the ice planet setting, as well as the co-op component from previous reports. The new character was seen in the recent graphic novel-style short film and during single player, he is said to act as your guide. Here are some basic details we've collected from previous reports:
Co-op: “Isaac Clarke will, if players choose, fight alongside a man with a gnarly scar on his face, an engineering RIG of his own, and glowing red eyes peering from his helmet. During single-player, this character acts as Isaac’s guide.”
Upgrade Changes: “Alternate-fire in Dead Space 3 functions much differently than before, possibly because the workbench, where players previously upgraded weapon power, reload speed, and capacity, has changed. The Plasma Cutter, whose default horizontal shot changed to vertical, is an entirely different weapon now. Its alt-fire mode now has a similar knockback effect to the Force Gun.”
Crouching: “Crouching is one of Isaac’s most notable new abilities, and it functions as his means of cover as he hides behind small objects. The left/right evasive roll is unquestionably the most significant change we know of in his new skill set.”

We've include the screenshots below, along with the short film that EA released. We'll keep an eye out for new information and content, and will post them as they become available over the course of the next week.
