Although there were rumors floating around for the last month of a Dead Island game in development, it has now been officially announced. The new game's title is Dead Island Riptide and it is in development for consoles and PC by Dead Island developer Techland. Unfortunately, they won't be showing anything off at E3, but an extensive reveal is planned for later this summer. Here is the official announcement and a look at the new logo:

"LARKSPUR, CA – JUNE 6, 2012 Deep Silver today announced the development of a new entry to the Dead Island™ franchise.

The next battle between life and death will be waged in Dead Island Riptide and is currently in full development by Techland for consoles & PCs. An extensive reveal of its’ thrilling new perils is planned for later this summer."
