Heading to a secluded cabin under the guise of recharging their batteries and rekindling the dying embers of their strained relationship, married couple Dan (Jason Segel) and Lisa (Samara Weaving) instead intend to kill each other for a hefty life insurance check and the chance to move on with no strings attached, but their macabre plans are interrupted by some unexpected houseguests with sinister schemes of their own in the new film Over Your Dead Body.

Based on Tommy Wirkola's Norwegian film The Trip (aka I onde dager), Over Your Dead Body will bring its bold blend of marital drama, violent comedy, and realistic action to theaters beginning April 24th from IFC.

Leading up to the film's theatrical release (following its recent screening at the Overlook Film Festival in New Orleans), Daily Dead had the great pleasure of catching up with director Jorma Taccone and stars Jason Segel and Samara Weaving to discuss the verbal battles (in addition to the physical fights) between Dan and Lisa, balancing the movie's serious moments with comedic elements, and working with the incredible stunt choreography team at 87North Productions (Violent Night, Bullet Train, Nobody) to bring the fight scenes to life in realistic (and sometimes intentionally clumsy) fashion.

You can watch our video interviews below, and in case you missed it, be sure to read Matt Donato's review of Over Your Dead Body.

When miserable couple Dan and Lisa retreat to a remote cabin for a romantic reset, each arrives with a secret plan to murder the other. Their carefully plotted traps and counterplots quickly unravel when a dangerous crew crashes the weekend with plans of their own. As the toxic getaway spirals into chaotic carnage, Dan and Lisa must survive the intruders, each other, and figure out if they want to save their marriage or survive it.
