Sundance just kicked off that that means we should have a decent amount of horror acquisition news over the next couple of weeks. Blumhouse Productions announced that they have picked up a found footage horror project, titled Peachfuzz, and posted two set photos from Mercy.

Patrick Brice is the director on Peachfuzz, which "follows a man who answers a Craigslist ad with unexpected results." Additional plot details were not released, but based on the sales poster below, we're assuming this is a werewolf movie. Mark and Jay Duplass are producing the film, which Deadline mentions is not 100% finished. Select scenes were shown to buyers at Sundance and Blumhouse will obviously assist in polishing up the movie.

Another Blumhouse production, Mercy, just started filming and two set photos have been released. The project is an adaptation of Stephen King’s Gramma, directed by Peter Cornwell (The Haunting in Connecticut) and starring Dylan McDermott, Frances O’Connor, Chandler Riggs, Joel Courtney, Shirley Knight and Chris Browning.

Gramma was first published in Weirdbook magazine and was part of 1985′s Skeleton Crew. The story “follows two young boys who go with their single mother to take care of their elderly, senile grandmother named Mercy, only to discover that she’s a witch who made a pact with a dark force many years before.”
