ABC had ordered a TV pilot for a crime procedural show featuring Edgar Allan Poe "who uses unconventional means to uncover mysteries”. Christopher Egan (Kings) had been cast as Poe and the pilot episode was shot, but it is being reported that ABC decided not to pick up Poe for a full season order this fall.
While there is a slim chance that it could be retooled for a future pickup, this is not usually the case with most pilots that are turned down. Those interested in seeing fictional tales involving Edgar Allan Poe can look forward to John Cusack's upcoming film, previously titled The Raven.
