We've reported on a number of release date shifts for Universal's new Dracula movie and it has changed once again. While most recently set to open in theaters on October 3rd, 2014, it has been delayed two weeks to October 17th. Previously, this date was held by Fox's Frankenstein, but they pushed back that movie's release to January, 2015.

While this movie has been referred to as Dracula: Year Zero for years and then simply Dracula, the official title of the movie is now Dracula Untold. Gary Shore will direct the film from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Dracula Untold will star Luke Evans in the lead role, along with Zach McGowan, Dominic Cooper, and Sarah Gadon.

via THR: “The script tells of a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them, and in the process becomes the first vampire.”
