Dimension has been working on a remake of David Cronenberg's Scanners, but they decided to drop their plans in favor of developing a TV series. Deadline reports that Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D, The Hills Have Eyes remake) is going to executive produce the show and may direct the pilot episode.

The original film focused on a group of telekinetic individuals referred to as "scanners". The story involves a renegade scanner and the man trying to stop him. If you've never seen the movie or haven't seen it in a while, we've got a copy of the "exploding" Scanners trailer for you to enjoy.
