James Wan's Insidious has been getting a lot of positive buzz since it showed in September at the Toronto Film Festival and now we have been given an official release date of April 1st for the haunted house film.

Insidious was picked up by Sony Pictures right after its Toronto Film Festival premiere, but is being released through a relatively new distribution branch named Film District (that will be working with Sony), so at this time there is no word on whether this will be a full or limited theatrical release.

For those unfamiliar with the film, here is the official synopsis: "When proud parents take possession of an old house to build a nest for their family, an accident results in one of their sons falling into a coma. The tragedy doesn't stop there when they are beset by vengeful spirits from another realm."
