Following a successful theatrical run for Kong: Skull Island, we knew it wouldn't be too long before a director was announced for Godzilla vs. Kong. Now, it has been revealed that the job will be going to Adam Wingard (The Guest, You're NextBlair Witch).

According to Variety, Wingard is officially on board as director, with Terry Rossio writing the anticipated monster showdown. Before that fight gets underway, Godzilla will first return to the big screen for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, directed by Michael Dougherty (Trick ’r Treat and Krampus) and with a planned release to theaters on March 22nd, 2019.

All of these films are part of Legendary and Warner Bros.' shared MonsterVerse that was briefly teased at the end of Kong: Skull Island. Speaking of the latest Kong movie, it was recently announced that it will first be available on digital platforms beginning June 20th, followed by a July 18th release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, and DVD.
