Forbidden Planet's Anne Francis has also passed today at the age of 80 from pancreatic cancer. She is probably best known for playing Altaira Morbius in Forbidden Planet, but also has over 100 television credits to her name, including appearances on The Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Some may instantly remember her more famous role in The Twilight Zone episode The After Hours, (Spoiler) where a young woman shopping at a department store finds out that shes's actually a mannequin.

I know for a lot of the younger casual Sci-Fi and Horror fans may stick to movies from the 70's and more recent, but if you haven't had a chance to see Forbidden Planet, you really need to give it a try. It is a fantastic film and you'll get to see what a screen presence Anne Francis had (even at an early age), and why she had such a long career. This is another actress that will be remembered and missed long after her passing.
