It has been years in the making, but Universal's Dracula was officially given the green light last month, with Luke Evans (The Raven, Fast & Furious 6) as the star. With this movie's Dracula locked in, the casting process for additional roles has started, and we know who be taking on the female lead.

Sarah Gadon (Cosmopolis, A Dangerous Method- pictured below)  is currently in negotiations to star in the movie, according to Variety. While the report did not contain details about her character, this previously released story information suggests that she could be Vlad's wife:

"The script tells of a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them, and in the process becomes the first vampire."

Universal plans to release Dracula on August 8th, 2014. Gary Shore will direct the film from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Check back soon for additional casting and story information.
