Happy Thanksgiving to our readers here in the U.S., and for those of you in the rest of the world, I hope you are having a great week as well! As we prepare to carve those turkeys and gorge ourselves on copious amounts of delicious food on Thursday, the impending holiday also means that Black Friday is right around the corner as well, which is the official start of the shopping season.

So, to give everyone a head start on those holiday lists, Daily Dead is kicking off its 2018 Holiday Gift Guide today with an initial look at some Black Friday sales from the likes of Fright-Rags, Severin Films, Cavitycolors, Vinegar Syndrome, Mixtape Massacre, Entertainment Earth, HBO, and Final Girl Designs. We’re also breaking down all the excellent movie sales happening at major retailers including Target, Best Buy, and Walmart, and we even have some great deals from GameStop included, too.

We’ll be back early on Friday as well with more Black Friday deals for all you horror and sci-fi fans out there, and be sure to look for more installments of our 2018 Holiday Gift Guide through December 7th, as we will be bringing you an array of gifting ideas for this holiday season, featuring some of the best books, apparel, housewares, pins, artwork, vinyl releases, collectibles, movies of 2018, and more.

And, as always, Daily Dead will be giving away a prize pack of movies and goodies for 10 lucky readers, thanks to this year’s HGG sponsor, RLJE Films. Winners will receive one copy of the upcoming Christmas anthology All the Creatures Were Stirring, one other title from RLJE, and a few other horror-tastic surprises, just in time for the holidays. To enter, send an email to contest@dailydead.com with “Holiday Gift Guide” in the subject line and be sure to include your full name and mailing address as well (limited to those who are 18 years of age or older that live in the United States. Only one entry per household will be accepted).

Amazon Black Friday DealsWhile Amazon has already been running their Black Friday Deals all this week, they really start to ramp up everything beginning on Thanksgiving night, and there are always a ton of great deals on movies, video games, and toys to watch out for every year. As someone who appreciates a good discount, last year I managed to get Shin Godzilla for $8, two of the Universal Monsters sets for $11, and a video game for a gift for more than 50% off, so be sure to check in with Amazon frequently through Cyber Monday to save tons of dough this holiday season.

Fright-Rags: For Black Friday, Fright-Rags will be kicking off their sales at 12:01am EST on Friday, November 23rd, and they will be offering up $6 enamel pins, tees for as low as $12, all women’s tees marked down to $15, and more discounts on other merchandise like socks, pants, baseball tees, masks, and more. Fright-Rags has been putting out some amazing products this year, and this BF sale seems like the perfect time to stock up and maybe nab a few holiday gifts, too.

Cavitycolors: The fine fiends at Cavitycolors have all sorts of plans for their Black Friday sales, and while we don’t have all the specifics just yet, what we do know is that they’ll be offering up some leftover merchandise from their Buy or Die series, free shipping (which always helps during the holiday season), major discounts, and they also teased a surprise release as well. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Cavitycolors’ site all weekend to keep up with the horror happenings over there!

Severin Films: For Black Friday, Severin Films is pulling out all the stops—not only are they releasing a TON of Severin-themed merchandise (a pin, a fanny pack, t-shirts, and an ornament), but they’re also putting out several other pins, offering up black Blu-ray cases for sale, and bringing a handful of new titles home, too, including All the Colors of the Dark/All the Colors of Giallo, Mondo Greudo/Mondo Bizzaro & Ecco/The Forbidden duo, and Skinner. Severin’s Black Friday releases notoriously sell out VERY quickly, so you definitely want to be ready to do some shopping on the quick once their online sale begins.

Mixtape Massacre: If you haven’t had a chance to add Mixtape Massacre to your tabletop gaming repertoire, then this year’s Black Friday sale at the MM site gives you a prime reason to right that wrong immediately. The slasher-tastic game and some other Mixtape Massacre items/bundles will be discounted starting at 10:00pm EST on 11/22, and their sale should run throughout the weekend.

Entertainment Earth: If you’re on the hunt for geek-tastic gifts this holiday season, be sure to check out Entertainment Earth. They’re usually pretty great at offering up discounts on popular items, but they’re already doing their Pre-Black Friday Sale, and each day brings new deals, which can be very helpful when you’re trying to whittle away at that Christmas list (or maybe you want to grab some stuff for yourself—no judgments here, folks!). Anyway, Entertainment Earth is definitely a site to keep your eye on over the next few weeks, as you never know what will be on sale next!

Vinegar Syndrome: Once again, Vinegar Syndrome has some amazing tricks up their proverbial sleeves for their annual Black Friday celebration. Their sales run from 11/23 through 11/26, and VS will be offering 50% off discounts on pretty much everything on their site. Vinegar Syndrome will also be unveiling two surprise Blu-ray releases for Black Friday and are also launching the sale of a Limited Edition Cutting Class Blu as well. As always, it looks like VS will be killing it yet again this shopping season, so be sure to keep an eye on their Twitter account for more details in the future.

Final Girl Designs: Love horror-themed jewelry? Me too! If you’re looking to impress the horror-lovin’ woman in your life this holiday season (or maybe you just want to spoil yourself, ladies), be sure to check out Final Girl Designs, as designer Jennifer McCarthy has a great selection of one-of-a-kind items as well as other offerings to boot. While I don’t have exact details just yet, McCarthy shared earlier this week that she’ll be offering discounts from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, so be sure to keep an eye on Final Girl Designs on Twitter for any sale info!

HBO: If you have some Game of Thrones or Westworld fans to shop for this year, HBO will be hosting a Black Friday sale on their site, featuring deep discounts on an array of merchandise. Their BF discounts run from 11/23 through 11/25, and you can save up to 40% on items such as apparel, mugs, and accessories, so be sure to check out their deals this upcoming weekend.

Horror DecorThe lovable lunatics at Horror Decor have always put their blood, sweat, and tears into their vast collection of horror-themed housewares and decorations, so while they aren’t having a traditional Black Friday sale (they will be doing a Cyber Monday sale, but I’ll share details on that at a later date), I wanted to mention them here, just because the earlier you get your orders into HD, the better (their cut-off date to make the Christmas deadline is December 5th this year). They have a wide variety of ornaments and stockings this year that would make for perfect gifts this Christmas season.

GameStop Black Friday SalesI generally skip shopping GameStop for the other 364 days of the year, but every Thanksgiving weekend, the popular retailer offers up some great Black Friday bargains on tons of video games for every console, making their site one of the first places I head to in search of some awesome savings. So, if you have a few gaming fans on your shopping list this season, be sure to hit up GameStop for their Black Friday sale, which kicks off on 11/22 at 3:00pm EST.
