We made it, readers! Today marks the last installment of Daily Dead’s 5th Annual Holiday Gift Guide, and it’s been quite a ride for yours truly (with a lot of sleepless nights, too). But before this writer can properly cross the finish line and do a few victory laps (or naps, really), we still have one last bit of business to attend to: this year’s vinyl releases, with a few miscellaneous gift ideas to kick things off as well.
And because today is our final Holiday Gift Guide entry, here’s one last reminder that Daily Dead is once again giving away prize packs of movies and some horror goodies for 10 lucky readers, thanks to this year’s HGG sponsor, RLJE Films. Winners will receive one copy of the upcoming Christmas anthology All the Creatures Were Stirring, one other title from RLJE Films, and a few other horror-tastic surprises, all just in time for the holidays. To enter, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Holiday Gift Guide” in the subject line, and be sure to include your full name and mailing address as well (limited to those who are eighteen years of age or older that live in the United States. Only one entry per household will be accepted).
2018 has been a pretty awesome year for the horror genre in terms of movies alone, but when you add in the return of Fangoria Magazine to the mix, it’s hard to deny that us genre fans have been pretty damn lucky all-around this year. And if you have a horror aficionado on your shopping list this holiday season, a Fangoria subscription is truly the way to go. I’ve only made it through about a quarter of the first issue so far (only because of my busy schedule), but everything so far has been stellar and marks a return to form for the publication (and in many ways, it raises the bar for print magazines it helped established decades ago). As Cousin Eddie says in Christmas Vacation, “It’s the gift that keeps on giving, Clark.” And I’m sure that, deep down, Eddie was really talking about Fango.
2018 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Series 2 Horror-ible - "Oh, The Horror-ible!" features ALL-NEW art, parodying monsters and horror & sci-fi films & TV shows, broken down into era-specific subsets. Includes '80s Horror and '80s Sci-Fi parodies!
A friend gifted me with some Death Wish Coffee last year, and I loved it (admittedly, it packs quite a punch, so DWC is really made for those who enjoy their java amped up to an 11). Not only does Death Wish do regular orders, but they also offer a subscription service, and what caffeine fiend wouldn’t appreciate receiving some killer coffee each and every month (or if you’re feeling feisty, even bi-weekly)? Oh, and DWC also has a great line of merchandise, including mugs, apparel, and bundle boxes.
Now, onto all the vinyl album awesomeness!
