David Cronenberg fans were surely pleased to find 1977's Rabid on Scream Factory's upcoming releases list that was recently revealed at Comic-Con. Scream Factory has now unveiled the cover art for the Collector's Edition Blu-ray, along with the anticipated item's release date:
From Scream Factory: "We’re practically foaming at the mouth (sorry, couldn’t resist) with anticipation about our upcoming release of David Cronenberg’s Canadian-made classic RABID! Here’s the early details we have so far:
- Official street date is planned for November 22.
- This will be a branded as a "Collector's Edition" that will come with a slipcover.
- The gruesome, newly-commissioned front-facing artwork you see pictured comes to us from the CRP Group. Purists though will be pleased that we will include the iconic original theatrical image (dead woman in the freezer) on the reverse side of the wrap.
- Bonus features and specs are still in progress and will be announced sometime in Sept/Oct.
