If you have yet to witness the return of Twin Peaks or you need to watch it one or two (or one hundred) more times to soak in all of the enigmatic details of the new 18-part story, then you'll get your chance soon, as David Lynch has revealed the release date and cover art (featuring Agent Cooper and his doppelganger, Mr.C) for Twin Peaks: The Third Season.

On Twitter, David Lynch announced a December 5th release date for Showtime's third season of Twin Peaks (also known as Twin Peaks: The Return), and he also unveiled the cover art for the new season featuring Kyle MacLachlan (who should garner an Emmy nomination for his truly multifaceted turn in the new episodes).

Special features have yet to be revealed, but if Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery was any indication, fans can hopefully look forward to many bonus goodies that should be as sweet as a cherry pie at the Double R Diner. We'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed. In the meantime, pour yourself a cup of "damn fine" coffee and let us know what you thought of the new season in the comments section below.

"Directed entirely by David Lynch, the new SHOWTIME 18-part limited event series picks up 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. TWIN PEAKS is written and executive produced by series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost, and is executive produced by Sabrina S. Sutherland."
