We're excited to have The Dead 2's Meenu Mishra take part in the latest installment of our Q&A series, telling us about her experience working with Howard and Jonathan Ford on their zombie sequel:

Thank you for taking the time to talk with us. Prior to being cast in The Dead 2, were you familiar with The Dead? Had you seen many or any zombie movies?

Meenu Mishra: Frankly speaking, I don't watch many movies and I don't watch English movies, so I was not familiar with The Dead. When Howard came to the audition, he told me about the story of The Dead and I really want to thank Howard for selecting me for this.

There are not too many Indian horror movies or zombie movies. What attracted you to this role?

Meenu Mishra: It's true that there are not too many horror or zombie movie in India, but the thing that attracted me to this role is the story and the love between Ishani and Nicholas Burton .

The Dead 2 takes place in the middle of a zombie outbreak, but there are very real social and political topics that are a part of this movie. How does Ishani's dealings with family and pregnancy mirror what women encounter in India? Did any person or event inspire how you played your character?

Meenu Mishra: Yes, there are some political things, which are really important. We should understand those thing like when Ishani's dad is saying this man is not perfect because he is nt from our country. According to me, when you love someone or someone loves you, than caste, country, or religion doesn't matter.

I was inspired by my friend, Manish, who marriage against all of his family's wishes, but he loves his family too and today he is living happily with all of his family, including his mom dad. And I'm inspired by my mom and dad as well, because they have supported me in every situation .

Is there a memorable on-set experience that you can share with our readers?

Meenu Mishra: When we were shooting the last scene of the movie, that place where the three of us going at the end has actually been closed for 15 years, so we all were very excited to shoot at that place. As we entered there, we all had face some problems, like we were not able to take breath and I got injured too.

Obviously, there is quite a bit of gore and makeup effects for the zombies. Do you have a favorite scene or zombie moment from the movie?

Firstly, I want to tell you that I have done make too as a zombie. There is one moment, which I like most when Javed, and Nicholas are about to sleep and Nicholas is reminded of those times he spend with Ishani .

With The Dead 2 being released on Blu-ray and DVD, are you excited for horror fans around the world to see your performance? Do you have any upcoming projects you can tell our readers about?

I'm very excited for it because it's my first movie and it's horror. I also want to how people react to my performance and what they think of Ishani. After this project, I have done two projects for Indian movies and I have a few more projects coming up.
