As promised, we have details and an early look at Dead Space 3's new Necromorphs. For the first feature, we're showing off the Waster. It starts out as one of Dead Space 3's more human-looking creatures until they decide to shed their skin...

"From the lonely depths of space, to a graveyard of derelict spaceships, to a frozen planet with brutal conditions, Dead Space 3 takes action and terror to incredible new heights. In Dead Space 3, the fate of mankind rests in the hands of engineer Isaac Clarke and his new merciless co-op partner, John Carver. Survival is more difficult than ever before, but Visceral Games announced today that fans who pre-order the Dead Space 3 Limited Edition at participating retailers will have the advantage of using two bonus* suits and weapons, right when they start the game….

…Players will embark on a thrilling ride through space that takes them to a hostile new planet, Tau Volantis. Fortunately, they are not alone this time around. The fully integrated drop-in/drop-out co-op feature gives players the option to play alone or team-up with a friend anytime. Players that choose to take down the terror together will experience additional story details, side missions and gameplay mechanics only found when playing as John Carver."

Check back tomorrow, as we'll be showing off more of Dead Space 3's necromorphs over the next few days. Dead Space 3 has been developed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The game will be released on February 5th in North America and February 8th in Europe. Learn more by visiting the following links:

Waster: "The Wasters are seemingly unmolested corpses save for a luminescent goo that oozes from their eyes and mouth. They arm themselves with makeshift weapons which they use with brutal efficiency. But this human-like facade hides a more alien interior. Lopping off their arms and legs can cause the Waster to shed its human layer releasing the masses of writhing tentacles that reside within. This adaptability makes them fierce and unpredictable opponents. Unless it's stopped moving entirely, the Waster should always be considered a major threat."
