"I'm going to ask you again. Do you remember me?" You may have survived the murders on Blackwood Mountain in the 2015 video game Until Dawn, but soon you can return to that location for a new adventure set sixty years before the events of the slasher video game in The Inpatient, a new PlayStation VR game that is teased in its first trailer from Supermassive Games.

On the official PlayStation blog, Nik Bowen, one of the Game Directors at Supermassive Games, shared some insights into what gamers can expect from The Inpatient:

"The Inpatient is a horror game with psychological elements. It places you in the role of a patient with amnesia and is set in the Blackwood Sanatorium, over 60 years prior to the award-winning Until Dawn.

Anyone familiar with Until Dawn will recognize the imposing sanatorium but this time you’ll see everything as it was during its 1950s heyday. For newcomers to the story, don’t worry – you don’t need to have played Until Dawn to be able to enjoy The Inpatient; it’s an entirely standalone title with a brand new story and cast of characters to meet."

Fans of Until Dawn will be happy to know that Bowen confirms that filmmakers Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick —the writers of the original game—were involved with the creative process for The Inpatient:

"We also worked closely with Until Dawn scriptwriters Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick to create a truly absorbing script that really brings the story to life. The result is an incredibly immersive experience."

A release date for The Inpatient, which will be available only for PlayStation VR, has not yet been announced, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed. In the meantime, you can watch the official announcement trailer below.
