The folks at Gun Media want to give gamers the chance to play a new Jason Voorhees video game for the first time since 1989, and with nine days to go on its Kickstarter (which has now raised over $600,000), Friday the 13th: The Game's version of Camp Crystal Lake is teased in a pre-alpha video.
Friday the 13th: The Game will bring some familiar faces back to camp, with Sean S. Cunningham, Tom Savini, Kane Hodder, and Harry Manfredini involved in the game's development, along with co-creator/designers Wes Keltner and Ronnie Hobbs and more.
Should it reach its $700,000 fundraising goal, Friday the 13th: The Game will feature a seven player experience in which one person plays Jason Voorhees and the other six take on the roles of camp counselors. If it becomes fully funded, the game is expected to come out in October of 2016 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Currently, over $609,000 have been raised to bring Jason back to the video game world.
