September 10th marks the 25th anniversary of when The X-Files premiered on FOX, forever changing the world of genre television as we know it. Several companies will be doing their part to celebrate the milestone, including Mattel, who will release official Mulder and Scully Barbie dolls based on the likenesses of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.

Exclusively revealed by Entertainment Weekly, the Mulder and Scully Barbie dolls can be viewed below. An official release date and packaging artwork for the Barbie dolls have yet to be revealed. As collectors may remember, Mattel previously released Mulder and Scully Barbie dolls back in 1998, the same year the anticipated X-Files movie was released in theaters.

EW reports that several other 25th anniversary celebrations of The X-Files will be taking place, including “The Truth Is Out There Trivia Contest" at Shop.Fox.com., a new comic book from IDW (The X-Files: Case Files), a new children's book from Quirk Books (The X-Files: Earth Children Are Weird), and Upper Deck and Fox's new card game Legendary Encounters. Be sure to head over to EW for more information on all of the anniversary goodies.

ICYMI, you can also celebrate The X-Files with our recent Corpse Club podcast episode featuring Heather Wixson and special guest Alyse Wax!
