Eva Green was cast last month in Tim Burton's take on Dark Shadows. The film adaptation of the cult horror soap opera will also star Johnny Depp and begins shooting within the next few months. While talking to MTV News, Eva Green mentioned that her character would deviate from the original and also referenced the time setting of the movie:

"I haven't seen the TV series, but from what I've seen on the Internet, it's very different. My character is very different. She's American, blonde, cool, in the '70s,...  She is this sexy witch, very powerful in town, she's very cool. She has many faces."

The time period of the film has never been confirmed and although Dark Shadows could jump around a bit, I think it's pretty cool that they are sticking to the 70's setting. Casting has not yet been finalized, but it has been rumored that Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, and Jackie Earle Haley are in talks to star in the film.
