If you're enjoying the multiplayer side of Dead Space 2, you'll be happy to know that not only is a new map pack on the way, but it is being given away for free:

"Who’s up for some FREE new maps for Dead Space 2 Multiplayer? The team has been working hard to bring you new and exciting maps, and they’re proud to bring you their latest and greatest for FREE. Return to The Sprawl in the two new multiplayer maps; The Academy and The Concourse. This new Outbreak Map Pack will be available May 31st on XBOX Live and June 3rd on PSN."

While a few other developers have released free DLC, it's really nice to see EA and the Dead Space 2 development team do the same, when so many other companies are charging for map packs. The game was critically praised, sold well, and it makes sense to keep the multiplayer base happy and playing while Visceral Games works on the next entry to the series.
