We're back with a new installment of Horror Highlights! In today's installment, we have details on the livestream of the official Fright Night stage play, the full Fantaspoa lineup, details on Alamo on Demand's Fulci collection and Ari Aster picks, and an exclusive Q&A with actor Eric Fellows:

The Rage of the Stage Players Present: A Dramatized Livestream Reading of the Official “FRIGHT NIGHT” Stage Play: "The Rage of the Stage Players, Pittsburgh's longest-running dark/fringe theatre company (now our 19th season), are thrilled to announce that, with the permission of horror icon Tom Holland, we will be presenting a visceral dramatized livestream performance, that will welcome audiences to Fright Night…FOR REAL.

Come join us on Sunday, August 2, 2020, for a historic, not-to-be-missed, “Fan-niversary” event, to celebrate the original film’s release, 35 years to the day! It will include an introduction by the film’s creator, Tom Holland (Child’s Play, Psycho II, Stephen King’s Thinner), and feature narration by Jonathan “Billy Cole” Stark, one of the stars of the original Fright Night.

A painstakingly adapted “love letter” to the source material, written and directed for the stage by Pittsburgh playwright (and die-hard fan) James Michael Shoberg, Fright Night celebrated its world premiere in October of 2018, produced by The Rage of the Stage Players. It is a faithful representation of the cult film (brimming with “Easter eggs”), and, like every Rage production, it contains new twists and turns in the spirit of the original, that will make it just as new to horror fanatics as it is to Fright Night virgins! This free livestream reading of the stage script, dramatized by many of the actors from the play’s inaugural production, will give all those who were unable to attend the show’s premiere, an opportunity to experience it for themselves!

Full Lineup Announced for Fantaspoa Fantastic Film Festival: "Following the announcement of its first sixteen titles, Brazil’s Fantaspoa Fantastic Film Festival is proud to announce the full program for its upcoming sixteenth edition, which will be held online and completely free of charge. The bold move is courtesy of an unprecedented partnership with Darkflix, a Brazilian video streaming service aimed at fantastic genre productions.

Fantaspoa 2020’s full lineup will consist of 47 feature films from 29 different countries and 89 shorts from 25 countries – totaling more than 130 films from 40 countries. The festival’s full lineup will be available for free on the Brazilian streaming platform Darkflix between July 24 and August 2, 2020 – with each title having a maximum cap of 5,000 views. While all films are geo-blocked to Brazil, the festival’s livestreams (which include talent and filmmaker Q&As, celebrity masterclasses, lectures, and more) will be available for free to the whole world.

Between its free films for Brazilian audiences and free events accessible to all, Fantaspoa now proudly hosts the largest online initiative of any film event in Latin America – and hopes that its attempts to combat social isolation through digital gatherings will be seen as a small but valiant way to help fight this unprecedented pandemic.

The full program, including all short films and feature films of the sixteenth edition of Fantaspoa is now available at www.fantaspoa.com.

Alamo On Demand's Lucio Fulci Collection & Ari Aster Picks: "In honor of Severin Films’ documentary FULCI FOR FAKE, Alamo On Demand has curated one of the most comprehensive collections of Italian horror and genre filmmaker Lucio Fulci all in one place.

Alamo on Demand is also excited to unveil two “Six Pack” collections from filmmaker Ari Aster (MIDSOMMAR). Six Packs feature six awesome movies built on a theme, curated by a member of the Alamo Drafthouse programming team along with friends of the Alamo. Six Packs are fun, awesome movies curated for a dusk-til-dawn weekend slumber party. His collections can be found here and here.

The name Lucio Fulci is legendary. Yet most people don’t even know how to pronounce it. He’s one of the wildest, most eccentric and visionary artists in the history of genre cinema. But you may never have even heard of him. His name is Lucio Fulci. You pronounce it “Fool-Chee.” And after a lifetime in the queasy fringes of high-output/low-budget exploitation filmmaking, creating everything from screwball comedies and westerns in the 1960s and 1970s to the fearless, over-the-top-gory horror films of the 1980s he was best known for, Lucio’s untimely death in 1996 passed him into the realm of mystery and relative obscurity. But his most devoted followers have refused to let his legacy die. Oscar-winning filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino (PULP FICTION) and Bob Murawski (THE HURT LOCKER) and true mavericks of the underground like William Lustig (MANIAC) have set out to preserve, restore and present Fulci’s most beloved and notorious films for his legion of devoted followers and new generations of fans.

Now, acclaimed director Simone Scafidi (ZANETTI STORY; EVA BRAUN) has crafted a master-stroke tribute in a remarkable new documentary feature film called FULCI FOR FAKE, which probes far beyond these incredible motion pictures and finds the man behind them, who was as dark and fascinating and enigmatic as the stories he told on film.

In celebration of this uniquely cinematic biography, the Alamo has partnered with Severin Films to bring it to you, along with a specially curated selection of The Maestro’s films, in collaboration with Grindhouse Releasing, Blue Underground and others. The faithful will find stunning new HD restorations of Fulci’s most beloved work… and newbies will be transported into a long-gone era of truly fascinating late 20th century celluloid art, marked by its place in history and consecrated by the passing of time. Come and check out Fulci, folks. But come prepared. Once you experience the films, you will never forget the man."

Q&A with Actor Erik Fellows (The Bay, Evil Touch, Purgatory):

Thank you for chatting with us. Can you tell us about the plot of the new horror series you're starring in?

Thanks so much for having me! Well, "Purgatory" was an intriguing and intense piece of content I must say! The plot goes as - A group of strangers are invited to experience a unique New Year's Eve Party at an exclusive mountain resort. The guests quickly come to realize that they were all brought there for a very specific reason, which may have deadly consequences.

What can you tell us about your character Bobby? What is your favorite aspect of this character?

The Bobby character is what drew me to this project from the start! I love playing the nemesis / bad guy/ villain! I always feel like there is much more life to dive into and arcs for these types of characters. Bobby is an ex/con/murder that has done a lot of time in prison for committing some awful acts. He is an interesting person because he is very, very hard to read. He is a charmer, manipulates, edgy, intelligent, sinister, convincing, sensitive, and a few other traits I created that I'm not sure what to call!

My favorite aspect of this character was that I got to really free myself of everything as a human being and actor and just let him evolve into who he became as it developed. It was an amazing experience as an actor and taught me to trust myself and know it will be ok.

Where did filming take place, and what was your favorite part of filming the series? Any fun behind the scenes stories?

Filming took place in Armenia and surrounding areas outside Yerevan, Armenia, which is the Capitol. It is a stunning place to visit and film. We first got there, and in the opening of the show in the 1st episode, we shot in Lake Sevan with the snowy mountain visuals in the background. It was breathtaking.

My favorite part of filming the series was shooting in such an amazing place and being able to learn the culture of Armenia and be on locations that I have never experienced. Filming in an actual cave for the duration of the series really tested your ability to be in the conditions as if it was really happening to us in real life. It made all of us adapt to the script and then the environment that we were in. Authenticity is a big deal to me and my craft, so having the cave and that life to create from was incredible. I'm forever grateful for this opportunity.

As far behind the scenes go, I would love to gather all the behind the scenes footage and memories because there was a lot of amazing moments that were shared. We were all having a blast even when times were getting tough or during long days when we were trying to pull through. It takes an army to make these productions happen and come out great! We all stayed positive and picked each other up when things got rough, but that's what it's all about!

Do you consider yourself a horror fan? What is the first horror movie you remember watching? What is your favorite horror movie?

Yes, I love horror films! The first horror film I saw was the original "Friday the 13." My favorite horror would probably be the original "Pet Cemetery!"

What projects do you have coming up that our readers may be interested in?

I have two very different films releasing in late 2020, early 2021. My first movie is the action/ suspense thriller "Break Even" where I play the role of Dash. It is in the vein of "Fast and Furious" meets "Into the Blue- Break Even" Four adventurous friends find 50M in cash at a remote island only to discover the DEA left it for the cartel in a rogue deal.

My second release and film coming shortly after that is his highly anticipated dark comedy film "STARF*CKER" about the dark, cruel underbelly of Hollywood and what it really is like out there chasing your dreams, handling heartbreak and loss along the way, and trying to find redemption. I play the lead character, Jimmy Starr! "STARF*CKER" is a narcissistic psychopath with ADD, BPD, and a sex addiction who tries to sleep his way to the top of Hollywood, only to find his world crash down around him.
