Check Out This 4/20 Massacre Trailer: Press Release: "As long as marijuana is a hot topic both socially and politically there will be filmmakers looking to capitalize on “the green stuff”.

Of course, we’re all aware of the long history of stoner comedies from the likes of Cheech & Chong to Jay & Silent Bob- and this brand of “half-baked” humor has even crept its way into television shows like “Broad City” and “Silicon Valley”.

But until now horror hasn’t really dabbled in the “stoner sub-genre” and has been content to treat its sporadic “pot head” characters as butts of jokes and hapless victims meeting their untimely end at the hands of an axe-wielding maniac.

But all that may be changing with 4/20 MASSACRE- the new horror “stoner slasher film”- which may be the first to emerge from this rising sub-genre.

What’s the plot? A group of five women goes camping in the woods to celebrate a friend’s birthday over 4/20 weekend. But when they cross the turf of an illegal marijuana growing operation they must struggle to survive the living nightmare.

From indie writer/director Dylan Reynolds (Chain Link, Nipples & Palm Trees) and starring “Scream Queen” Jamie Bernadette (I Spit on Your Grave: Déjà Vu, The 6th Friend), Vanessa Rose Parker (Samurai Cop 2), Justine Wachsberger (Twilight Saga, Divergent), Stacey Danger (Neon Demon, Jean-Claude Van Johnson), Marissa Pistone (Cruel Will, Raze), Jim Storm (Dark Shadows, Trilogy of Terror), Mark Schroeder (Earthling Cinema, Pretty Little Liars) Jim Round, Drew Talbert and James Gregory.

4/20 MASSACRE is due out later this year- for updates and info:

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
