Dark Horse Comics Announces Infernal Dark Fantasy LIVING HELL from Caitlin Yarsky in Her Writing/Art Debut: "Dark Horse Comics is pleased to announce LIVING HELLa new modern fantasy creator-owned series written and drawn by Caitlin Yarsky (Black Hammer RebornWonder WomanCatwoman).

The plot revolves around Jerome Jameel—a loving father and husband who also happens to be a demon. He’s fled his former prison of Hell to live incognito on earth as a bartender, hiding in plain sight. Jerome is determined to stay out of trouble, but when he kills one of Hell's most vicious bounty hunters in self defense, he inherits the job of infernal bailiff, hunting down his own kind. Jerome soon faces a range of ancient deities and monsters, from the human-eating ghosts known as Jikininki to psychopomps like Baron Samedi. But with every act of betrayal, Jerome loses a little more of his hard-earned humanity.

"Almost every mythology around the world has its own version of an underworld—a land of the dead, the embodiment of despair," writer/artist Caitlin Yarsky explains. "LIVING HELL explores the lengths we’ll go to transcend generational trauma and the prisons of our past. It's a story about family, the fantasy of a clean slate, and of course, cool monsters."

“Throughout her relatively brief career, Caitlin has continued to define herself as a premiere, emotional storyteller. No matter how surreal or epic the scene, the character always comes first in her work,” said series editor Megan Walker. “We’re delighted to host her first full series as a writer and artist, and we have no doubt it’s going to enchant and exhilarate readers.”

Living Hell will debut later this year on November 6, for $4.99. Preorder now by visiting your local comic shop, or PRH Comics.

Miguel Llansó's Infinite Summer World Premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival: "Fantasia alum Miguel Llansó (Crumbs (2015), Jesus Shows You the Way to the Highway (2019) is excited to return to the Fantasia International Film Festival for the world premiere of his latest feature, the offbeat and emotionally resonant concoction Infinite Summer. Infinite Summer will screen July 27th as part of the 2024 edition of Fantasia.

Infinite Summer is produced by Llansó alongside longtime collaborators Rain Rannu and Tõnu Hiielaid of Tallifornia and their new American partners Allison Rose Carter and Jon Read of Savage Rose Films (Everything Everywhere All At Once, Zola). The film stars Hannah Gross (Joker, "Mindhunter"), Johanna Rosin, Teele Kaljuvee-O'Brock & Ciaron Davies as Dr. Mindfulness.

Of his latest work, Llansó shared, "Millions of years ago, hominids were doing similar things that we do today: fighting, being jealous, loving, insulting each other and laughing a lot. But what would be the future of humankind after an increasing attachment of our bodies to technological devices or transforming chemistry? Would it make sense to still talk about human desires, dreams and ambitions attached to this body?

How would we perceive individuality after the dissolution of our body’s boundaries, or its merging with technologies or other organic forms?

From a philosophical perspective, Infinite Summer revolves around these reflections on upcoming technologies as applied to our bodies. These transhumanist narratives are indelibly linked to the stories of the film."

Small Town Monsters investigates one of the darkest urban legends in North American history. Featuring Shannon LeGro and author Aaron Deese, Dogman Territory: Werewolves in The Land Between the Lakes follows the pair in search of what many believe to be a real-world monster.

The Land Between the Lakes, found on the border of Tennessee and Kentucky, is the largest inland peninsula in the United States. But not long after the park was formed, stories began to spread of unearthly sounds coming from the woods, shadowy beings lurking between the trees, and mysterious deaths that defy explanation. Witnesses continue to report one thing over and over again - Dogman.

From Native American legends to modern day encounters, the legacy of what many now call Dogman runs deep in the peninsula. On the surface, these may appear to be nothing more than campfire tales. But if they are, why do so many people claim to have seen them?

Join Aaron and Shannon as they attempt to sort fact from fiction and learn what really lives in the Land Between the Lakes. "
