You may have heard of a T-Rex, but what about a Z-Rex? Ahead of its release this summer, Wild Eye Releasing unveiled the trailer and poster for The Jurassic Dead, which headlines today's Horror Highlights. We also have details on the start of filming for the new horror movie irl and Hulu release details for the sci-fi thriller Twenty Twenty-Four.

Jurassic Dead Trailer and Poster: Press Release: "Premiering at EFM in Berlin, where it’ll be stumped internationally, the first trailer and poster for THE JURASSIC DEAD.

Released Summer 2018 (alongside that other ‘Jurassic’ movie) THE JURASSIC DEAD is part JURASSIC PARK part THE WALKING DEAD, with a T-Rex turning everyone it attacks into a zombie!

A unit of mercenaries must team up with a group of tech-geek students after American is struck with an EMP attack. Deep in the desert, they find the source of the terror, a mad scientist who has also just created a living dead T-Rex dinosaur, one who turns everyone it attacks into a zombie. Now they must scramble to stay alive and save the planet from the ultimate undead predator.

Matt Block, Wes Clark, Julie Crisante and American professional bodybuilder Andy Haman star in a Milko Davis film.

Principal Photography Begins on The Squid Farm's irl: Press Release: "LOS ANGELES - FEBRUARY 22, 2018 — The Squid Farm today announced it has begun principal photography of the psychological horror feature “irl.” This is the first project from the recently launched genre film and television production company headed up by Tara L. Craig.

Directed by Jen Harrington, “irl” (web shorthand for “In Real Life”) centers on a social media personality who becomes the target of an online terror campaign. Production is taking place in Los Angeles.

Craig is no stranger to the horror genre, having worked as head of physical production for Frank Mancuso Jr.’s 360 Pictures. She has a 20-year track record working on award-winning features and TV projects as a producer and line producer.

This is Harrington’s second directorial effort. Her first was the 2015 horror feature “Housekeeping,” which was acquired by Lionsgate Films/After Dark. Richard Wong is serving as Director of Photography for “irl.” He’s coming off the successful premiere of “To the Bone” at Sundance, where the project sold to Netflix for a reported $8 million.

“irl” stars Daisye Tutor (“The Thinning: New World Order”) as Mia, the social media star, and Nicola Posener (“Age of the Living Dead”) as Lani. It also features Octavius Johnson (“Ray Donovan”), Grant Rosenmeyer (“Money Monster”), Emily Goss (“The House on Pine Street”) and Stephanie Simbari (“White Famous”).

Twenty Twenty-Four Coming to Hulu & Other Digital Platforms: Press Release: "Award-winning independent film Twenty Twenty-Four is coming to Hulu and all digital platforms in US and Canada on the 1st of March. Directed by Richard Mundy and starring Andrew Kinsler, Twenty Twenty-Four is an exercise in sustained tension, featuring one location; a vast underground nuclear bunker that houses only one man and his AI companion.

Twenty Twenty-Four premiered in London’s Empire Cinema and went on to San Francisco Independent Film Festival in 2017. The tense indie flick has since been acquired by HBO for distribution in Central and Eastern Europe, ahead of additional releases lined up in China and the UK (details TBC).

Logline: A lone scientist named Roy maintains Plethura, an underground bunker for the coming nuclear disaster. Although conflicted with the fate of humanity, Roy keeps the bunker ever-prepared for those who will eventually come to populate it. But things take a dramatic turn when Roy becomes prematurely isolated. Locked in, and with no knowledge of what has happened up top, it becomes painfully clear that Roy is alone and nobody is coming for him. Twenty Twenty-Four is a tense and unsettling nightmare you’ll never be sure you’ve woken up from."
