Peggy Neal and The Great Buddha Arrival's Kickstarter Details: "Hi, everyone my name is Avery Guerra, and I work as a genre film Publicist and sometimes Producer, but I'm a fanboy first and foremost. My first love is the Kaiju films from Japan. Ever since I was a child, I have always loved them and the actors that star in them. After working for many years in the industry with over 150 credits in film, I am finally getting to fulfill my lifelong dream of working on a feature-length Japanese Kaiju film thanks to director Hiroto Yokokawa and 3Y Film. I recently joined the crew of their exciting new Kaiju film The Great Buddha Arrival (Daibutsu Kokaiku) as Publicist and Consulting Producer. The film is a reboot of a lost classic 1934 film from Japan which is quite possibly the first Kaiju film. After a very successful fundraiser in Japan to where we reached over 148% of our goal and my joining the team, the film project has really grown and we have secured an incredible cast of some of Kaiju cinema's most beloved and familiar faces including legendary actor Akira Takarada, Yukijiro Hotaru, Shelley Sweeney, and more! The film is fully funded and ready to go as we start shooting in August!

For years now, I, like many others, have been searching extensively/obsessively for one of the most beloved classic actresses of the subgenre that after her short stint in Japanese fantasy films of the late 60's like "X- From Outer Space" and "Terror Beneath The Sea" just disappeared off the face of the planet. She became one of Japanese cinema's biggest mysteries. Yes, I'm talking about blonde bombshell actress Peggy Neal! While helping to cast up our film, I stopped and thought of how great it would be if I could finally find her and get her to be in this film, so I figured I'd give another search a go... Well, after many years of dead ends and false leads I finally found her!! Though I couldn't quite get in touch with her as she's a very private person, I reached out to someone very close to her to make the introduction and pitch to her.

Through a dear friend of her's, we were able to track down Peggy. Although she has shied away from the limelight for decades, Peggy was intrigued by the story and the project. As Peggy is a Buddhist and has a deep affection for Japan, we were able to persuade her to revisit her former life as a Kaiju star. "There just seems to be some karmic symmetry to this project, this time, this place, that is so compelling," said Peggy.

Yes, so not only did I find her, but I just went for it and even offered her a role in our film and believe it or not she said yes!!

However, there's one little roadblock in the way to fulfilling mine as well as many, many other Kaiju fans' dreams of seeing her back in action. While the original campaign in Japan successfully raised the funding in order to get this film properly made and even some extra funds that were used to secure some really great talent, our budget is stretched now. This is where we really could use your help to get Peggy Neal to the set of our film so she can once again grace the screen in our exciting new all-star Kaiju film. These funds will go towards covering Peggy and her traveling assistant's airfare, hotel, meals, and fees. Of course, any amount we're able to raise with your help past our goal will go to the crew and production to make the best film possible. Peggy is very excited about the possibility of working on this film. We now reach out to you the fans and hope that you'll show Peggy the fan love she deserves for giving us such fun performances and pitch in to help us all realize this dream of our's."

Release Dates for German Angst and A Taste of Phobia Blu-rays: Press Release: "PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 8, 2018 - Artsploitation Films will release two eye-popping horror anthologies on June 26th.

Fourteen different directors peer into the twisted and often self-violent world of phobias in A Taste of Phobia. Also, on that date will be a special-featured-packed Blu-ray release of German Angst. Love and sex have never been portrayed as so depraved and disturbing as seen by three controversial underground filmmakers, the legendary Jörg Buttgereit (Nekromantik(1987); Andreas Marschall (Tears of Kali (2004); and Michal Kosakowski (Zero Killed (2014). Note: German Angst is a Blu-ray re-issue, as the film has been out on Blu-ray previously. But the original release was a barebones Blu-ray-R while this Artsploitation Films release will be of the highest HD quality and will contain many bonus features."

London Horror Festival 2018 Announced: Press Release: "Scaring the living daylights out of audiences since its inception in 2011, the London Horror Festival is a celebration of the ghoulish, the thrilling and the downright macabre.

Now entering it’s 8th year, due to popular demand the London Horror Festival is extending from three to four weeks of events promoting both emerging and established artists, writers and theatre companies experimenting with the horror genre. Each year thousands of people enjoy the London Horror Festival, where highlights include multiple sell-out runs, world premieres by internationally award-winning new playwrights and critically-acclaimed performers, and a host of thrilling new work for all ages and interest groups.

Following the success of the last two years, the LHF return to one of London’s most-acclaimed Off-West End venues, the Old Red Lion Theatre, reputed for shows transferring to the West End and off-Broadway, including The Play That Goes Wrong.

The LHF programme a broad range of horror theatre, comedy, magic, and performance art, from psychological spine-chillers to all-out splatter, improvised ghost stories to grotesque stand-up and séance magic to body horror, and almost anything else imaginable. Their purpose is to foster new talent as well as nurturing the already burgeoning live horror scene within the UK.

Thinking of applying? Check out these testimonials from former participants:

"To all companies considering involvement in the LHF ...

This dead soul city and its hell bound inhabitants are lucky to have such an enriching exhibition of darkness.

The LHF provides a unique platform for the horror genre. It's a place for lovers of the macabre to wash themselves in the gore of theatre.

Bring them your nightmares, skin crawlers and the devils on your backs.

The LHF team are extremely supportive and give you the feeling of belonging to a family...of weird twin nieces, strange uncles, grannies in the attic and daughters in the cellar."

Ben Whitehead aka Fred Strangebone

"The London Horror Festival is probably our favourite fest of all. Aside from how cool it is to have such a niche few weeks of theatre in the capital, you get the added bonus of a friendly and inclusive atmosphere from everyone involved. Highly recommended for lovers of the dark."

The Off-Off-Off-Broadway Company

"LHF gave us the opportunity and the platform to take our crazy idea and turn it into a show. They gave us their time, support and resources, the combination of which allowed us to enjoy the most successful run in our theatre companies history. We cannot wait to return this year."

The Underground Clown Club

"We have performed at three London Horror Fests and it is now a staple in our calendar. The team are brilliant at promotion and really help to get the word out about your show. The Old Red Lion is a great venue for horror from its rather creepy old cinema style seating, so it's very black blackouts! What we love most is the real sense of community - you get to meet lots of other horror theatre companies and everyone is incredibly supportive - thank you Team LHF!"

The Twins Macabre

Beast of Bray Road Trailer Released: Press Release: "Around the world tales of bizarre, unidentifiable wolflike creatures have been told for centuries. In 1992 this worldwide phenomenon came to the forefront in the United States when residents of the small town of Elkhorn, Wisconsin began encountering a “Werewolf” on a rural road just outside of town. Those unlucky enough to see the “beast of Bray Road” for themselves were left forever changed by the ordeal. Soon, the story had gained national attention as regional news media flocked to the area and monster hunters descended on the tiny hamlet. Before long, sightings of similar figures were erupting all across the Midwest.

Now, nearly three decades later, production company, Small Town Monsters investigates the story of the Beast of Bray Road… and it’s hidden history. As recently as last week, a major news item about the discovery of an unidentifiable doglike creature shot and killed in rural Montana broke. However, similar strange beasts have stalked the prairies and farmers fields of the Badger state for decades. In this seventh film from award-winning filmmaker, Seth Breedlove, the origins of the Werewolf myth will be explored when The Bray Road Beast arrives on streaming platforms and DVD on October 5th.

The film captures the sighting stories of real eyewitnesses, investigators, and historians to tell the centuries-worth of history surrounding one of the world’s oldest myths… and it’s possible roots in reality. “Beast” will also feature renowned author, Linda Godfrey; a newspaper reporter who broke the initial stories about the strange creature sightings in and around Elkhorn in the early 90’s before authoring a book on the subject.

Today, the first teaser trailer along with the official one-sheet for the film has been unveiled. Delving quickly into the frightening nature of the early sightings, while hinting at their possible supernatural origins, the trailer looks to introduce audiences to what will likely be their first brush with Canid cryptids. The Bray Road Beast reunites the Small Town Monsters crew of director, Seth Breedlove, cinematographer, Zac Palmisano, sound designer, Jason Utes, and composer Brandon Dalo with author and musician, Lyle Blackburn who will narrate the film. Blackburn previously narrated the Small Town Monsters production, The Mothman of Point Pleasant. Mark Matzke co-writes while Adrienne Breedlove acts as a producer. The titular “beast” will appear onscreen in dramatic, animated sequences, as well as live-action recreations with a number of different creature designs by Collier Wilmes, Chris Scalf, and Santino Vitale."

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
