Black Sunday Release Details: "BLACK SUNDAY, a slow-burn horror tale set during the Great Depression, will debut this fall as a digital-first series from American Gothic Press.

Its unconventional storytelling and stark black and white children's book-style art mark it as a distinct departure from anything in AGP's catalogue, and indeed any mainstream comic on the market today, making it perfect for discerning horror readers who are looking for something beyond your typical monster.

"BLACK SUNDAY is desolate and horrifying from both a narrative and historical perspective," says AGP Editor-in-Chief Holly Interlandi. "The Dust Bowl imagery combined with desperate people and a demonic presence recalls films like THE VVITCH, shows like CARNIVALE, and highly visual media like SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK."

The four issue mini-series introduces the Leikam family as they eke out a tolerable existence facing dust storms, drought, and crazed locals who are determined to place the blame on a higher power. When oldest son Charlie visits an abandoned farm to get water from the well, he awakens a presence that seems to infect everything they do, and it's only a matter of time before tragedy strikes.

BLACK SUNDAY will debut on digital platforms this fall."

Unspeakable Text Vol.1 Kickstarter Details: "The Unspeakable Text is a horror/suspense comic anthology based in many different time periods and settings. Each story in the series follows an "unspeakable" event that's been intentionally hidden from the world by supernatural forces.

These short tales have twists and turns, legends of old, mythical beasts, and scares beyond your imagination. This is an extremely unique comic book anthology because each story has been written by the same person and drawn by ten unbelievably talented artists from all over the globe.

The goal of this Kickstarter is to fund the printing and shipping of the first volume.

Check out some of the stories on our Instagram."

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
