Welcome to another horror/sci-fi round-up. This time around we focus on a key new addition to the cast of Gun Media's Summer Camp survival horror video game, the announcement of director Adam Wingard's upcoming horror movie for Lionsgate (with a script from consistent collaborator Simon Barrett), and a detailed Doctor Who infographic from NeoMam Studios and Horror Channel that looks at what it would actually cost to make a real Dalek.
Summer Camp: Via video, horror genre veteran Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood – Jason X, the Hatchet films) announced he is joining Gun Media's Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp as the killer. A video game taking place one hot summer night in 1984, Summer Camp follows a group of camp counselors as they strive to survive a masked murderer in their midst. Though it does not yet have an official release date, Summer Camp is slated to come out on the Xbox One, PS4, and Steam.
Fittingly involved with the project that wears its blood-splattered slasher love on its sleeve are Tom Savini (1978's Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow), who will executive produce and handle cinematography duties, as well as Harry Manfredini (Friday the 13th, Swamp Thing, House), who will compose the score.

The Woods: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Wingard will direct Lionsgate's The Woods off a screenplay by Simon Barrett. Not many plot details for The Woods are known at this time, but it has been revealed that the project will hone in on "a group of college students on a camping trip who discover they are not alone." Cameras are expected to begin rolling this spring.
The dynamic duo of Wingard and Barrett have worked together on A Horrible Way to Die, Autoerotic, You're Next, What Fun We Were Having, V/H/S, The ABCs of Death, V/H/S 2, and most recently, The Guest. Suffice to say, they team up a lot and are known for offering new takes on familiar setups. Wingard also directed the pilot for Outcast, the Cinemax series based on Robert Kirkman's comic book series of the same name.

The Cost of Making a Dalek Infographic: Though their lack of remorse and taste for extermination would make their existence a bit problematic for those around them, there have surely been Doctor Who fans that have wondered what it would be like to have a Dalek in their home.
To commemorate Doctor Who playing on the Horror Channel, the folks at NeoMam Studios have come together with the network to put some serious thought into what it would take to manufacture a Dalek, and their new infographic breaks down the staggering costs of producing just one of the little cyborgs. Steep though it may be, the final amount may still be worth it to diehard Doctor Who fans who have a fierce loyalty to the Dalek Empire.
