Indie Spotlight

2012/11/11 19:11:42 +00:00 | Tamika Jones

We're happy to announce that Tamika Jones is expanding her role on Daily Dead and is taking over the Indie Spotlight. For today's feature, she brings readers two short horror films to watch, along with the latest indie horror news sent our way:

6 Degrees of Hell Premiere: "Corey Feldman (The Lost Boys, The Goonies) will be in attendance for the Los Angeles premiere of 6 Degrees of Hell. Joined by writer and producer B.H. Smith, the screening will include a Q&A following the film and a horror trivia game, with such prizes as signed scripts, posters and movie packs.

In Northeast Pennsylvania, "Uncle Jack's Hotel of Horror" is besieged by a dark presence after two friends of "Uncle" Jack, Chris and Kellen, unwittingly release a deadly evil by transporting local psychic Mary Wilkins' collection of haunted objects as props for the popular tourist attraction. At the same time, a local TV ghost hunter, confronts an evil that has haunted him all his life-one he believes is responsible for his sister's death years ago.

His search puts him in the path of a rogue police chief and June, a girl who seems to be the eye of this supernatural perfect storm. They all find themselves connected to the old hotel while the threads of their own personal horrors draw paranormal investigator Kyle Brenner (Feldman) to pull all the threads together.

The film will be released on Blu-Ray/DVD on November 27th.  The Blu-Ray and DVD will come complete with an impressive selection of special features.  These include "The Making of 6 Degrees of Hell", "Behind the Scenes with Corey Feldman", "The Real Hotel of Horror Walkthrough", "The World Premiere of 6 Degrees of Hell" and more."

To Hell You Ride: Lance Henriksen (The X-Files, Millenium) and Joseph Maddrey in partnership with Dark Horse Comics have teamed up to create an original comic series called To Hell You Ride.

In the early 1990s, he wrote a film script set there. It revolved around a Vietnam veteran named Jim Shipps, who is serving as sheriff of a town with an ancient curse."

  • Tamika Jones
About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
