We return with another edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. This week's feature includes a trailer for The Cabining, details on All Hallows' Eve, and much more:

The Cabining: "Todd and Bruce, a hapless screenwriting team, get one last shot at success thanks to Todd's wealthy stepdad, Serge. If they pen a worthy horror script, Serge will fund the entire project. But there is one condition - the script must be complete in two weeks. With the deadline looming and no fresh ideas, Todd and Bruce head to Shangri-La, a serene artist's retreat, with the hope that the peace and company of fellow artists will inspire greatness... or, failing greatness, at least enough for straight-to-DVD. Shangri-La proves to be anything but serene, as the artists die off one by one, seemingly by accident. Bruce convinces Todd to soak in this morbid atmosphere to help with the writing, but soon those two are fighting for their lives as well."

The Cabining is currently in post-production and was written/directed by Steve Kopera. The movie stars Mike Kopera, Bo Keister, Angela Relucio, Melissa Mars, Luce Rains, Richard Riehle, and Mark Rademarcher. To learn more, visit:

Filming Begins on All Hallows' Eve: "In true classic slasher fashion, in the vein of Halloween and When A Stranger Calls, Leone unleashes his twisted creation, Art the Clown upon an unsuspecting babysitter. While watching two children on Halloween night, the babysitter finds an old VHS tape in the kids' trick or treat bag. The tape features three tales of terror, all linked together by a murderous clown. As the night goes on strange things begin to occur in the house. It isn't long before the babysitter learns the horrifying truth... the maniacal clown is slowly working his way into her reality.

The film stars Catherine A. Callahan (“Third Rock,” “Are We There Yet?”), Marie Maser (Terrifier), and Katie Maguire. Baget founded Ruthless Pictures in 2012 to bring to life tightly written and executed horror and thriller features. Ruthless Pictures is currently in production on two other films, Black Water Vampire starring Bill Oberst Jr. and Mischief Night starring Ally Walker, Charlie O’Connell, Daniel Hugh Kelly and Erica Leehrsen."

Feature Film Details for Horror Comic, Oh My Goth!: "We’re excited to announce [Aurelio Voltaire's] upcoming full-length film as director: an adaptation of his comic book OH MY GOTH! featuring his musical talents.

When the reanimated skeletons of Necronus, a cemetery planet across the dark expanse of space, decide they need Earth paved into a landing strip, they send, possibly the worst of their agents to undertake the task. Arrogant, pompous and not the brightest laser in the arsenal, Heironymous Poshe, takes on human form and travels to Earth aboard his Black Spire, a space ship that could easily pass for a giant, black cathedral. For centuries, Poshe (along with his robot slave and an imprisoned midget) has avoided his prime directive. Instead he has spent his time abducting Earth women, celebrities and bands for a non-stop, nightly party above the Black Spire.

Tired of Poshe’s lack or results, Lord Krom Wrath, supreme ruler of the Necrus, launches a full scale invasion of Earth. Poshe bands with the only people on Earth who understand his cause (a group of Goth kids, a cadre of ninja priests and a small army of Hasidic Rabbis- ironically, all of them people who wear all black!) to repel the oncoming armada of Necrid ships.

OH MY GOTH! the film is currently in pre-production and will shoot in the New York City metro area."

New Motion Poster for CLONED: The Recreator Chronicles: "While on a camping trip, Tracy, Craig, and Derek (Stella Maeve, Alexander Nifong, and Jamal Mallory-McCree) stumble upon an abandoned laboratory and accidentally trigger a deadly experiment that creates their clones - superior duplicates who plot to kill the kids and take over their identities. Trapped by their captors, the teenagers discover they are no match for their physically stronger, faster, better selves. Their only hope is to unlock the secrets of the Recreator - the scientist behind the experiments - and escape with their lives before they are replaced.

As the opening chapter in a sci-fi franchise about identity and the threat of replacement, CLONED is a film rooted in science-fiction realism and psychological terror that merges the anxious paranoia of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" with the teenage angst of the "Twilight" series.

Starring Stella Maeve as Tracy Bernstein, a small-town girl with big-city ambitions; John de Lancie as Dr. Frank Miller, a man with a secret who threatens Tracy and her friends during a camping trip on his private island; Alexander Nifong plays Tracy's boyfriend Craig; and Jamal Mallory-McCree as Derek, the third member of their group."
