**Update: Release date changed to April 5th, 2013** A new Jurassic Park film is in the early development stages and not moving as quickly as we would have hoped considering Steven Spielberg's comments at last year's Comic Con. However, Jurassic Park fans will be happy to learn that Universal is bringing the original film back to theaters to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

An official release date has been set for July 19th, 2013 and the movie will be converted to 3D. After the success of The Lion King 3D, Universal is hoping to replicate Disney's success. While it may be tough for some films to compete during the busy summer season, only Paramount's animated film Turbo is scheduled to open on the same day. We'll update this story when an official press release is issued, which will hopefully contain some more details on the digital restoration and 3D conversion.
