Karen Black Has Passed Away

2013/08/08 22:24:05 +00:00 | Jonathan James

For more than two years, Karen Black has been battling cancer. While treatment was successful at first, her health continued to deteriorate, even after a recent Crowdfunding project allowed for new treatment. We're sad to report that Karen Black passed away earlier today.

Her passing was confirmed by Karen's husband, Stephen Eckelberry: "It is with great sadness that I have to report that my wife and best friend, Karen Black has just passed away, only a few minutes ago. Thank you all for all your prayers and love, they meant so much to her as they did to me."

If you'd like to leave a note for Stephen, please visit his official Facebook page. For classic horror fans, Karen Black needs no real introduction. Her work on Trilogy of Terror will never be forgotten and she has appeared in more than a dozen horror projects, including House of 1000 Corpses. She received an Oscar nomination for Five Easy Pieces, and is also known for her roles in Family Plot, Easy Rider, and more. Our thoughts go out to Stephen, along with Karen Black's friends and family
