The second season of The Walking Dead is still filming and a late cast addition has been revealed. Michael Zegen, most known for his work on Rescue Me, has joined the cast as a recurring character named Randall.

According to EW, Randall is a "skinny Southern kid who finds himself in a rather unique set of post-apocalypse circumstances". That isn't too much to go by, but it has been confirmed that he's not based on a character from the comic series and is a new addition to the story.

It is very likely that Randall won't show up until the second half of the season, and due to the season break, we probably won't see him until next year. The first episode of The Walking Dead’s second season is a 90-minute episode that will premiere on Sunday, October 16th at 9PM. It has been announced that there will be a season break after episode 7, with the last 6 episodes starting up again on Sunday, February 12th.
