The cast of American Horror Story: Coven continues to impress with the announcement of two more actresses that will appear in the upcoming season. Ryan Murphy took to Twitter earlier today to announce that Angela Bassett and Patti LuPone are the latest additions to the cast. Like usual, he did not provide details on the characters they will be playing.

We recently reported that Precious star Gabourey Sidibe will be joining the cast, along with Kathy Bates, who will be a major part of the third season. A number of actors from past seasons will return to play new characters, including Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Evan Peters. The cast is still coming together, so we’re definitely expecting a few more of the past actors to make an appearance.

Filming of American Horror Story: Coven will take place in New Orleans and multiple unannounced locations. The season will premiere later this year and is expected to include thirteen episodes.
