Mountain of Madness Moving Forward

While promoting Cronos, it looks like The Playlist caught up with Guillermo Del Toro and got some information on the status of the highly anticipated At the Mountain of Madness film he'll be working on with James Cameron:

“...I’m rewriting and rewriting… I keep rewriting, not for budgetary reasons, but for creative reasons. For me, the beauty of the book is really it’s all about perspective. It’s about putting mankind in the right perspective in the cosmic scope. Lovecraft is very hard to adapt. He’s the master of ambiguity, and film is all about specificity... If everything goes according to plan, we’ll be shooting by June next year for a 2012 release.”

I'm happy to see this is still moving forward. Del Toro is attached to so many projects, that I was wondering if this might have been cut. There are numerous hurdles in getting this greenlit, including making this a film that will attract enough viewers to justify a large budget, but after hearing this, I'm excited that we might actually see some big-budget Lovecraftian horror.
