FEARnet recently caught up with James Cameron and got him to talk about the upcoming Guillermo Del Toro-directed At the Mountains of Madness, which Cameron will be producing:
"Oh we're very, very actively pre-producing the film right now with Universal. The design work is phenomenal, both the three-dimensional and two-dimensional design work, the physical maquettes, the CG test scenes; the artwork is phenomenal. The fans certainly won't want for a visual feast with this film. But there's [still] a bunch of number-crunching and "How you gonna do it?" and "How you gonna make it?"; "Where you gonna do it?" All that stuff."
It is great news to hear that things are still moving forward. Along with The Dark Tower, we are seeing studios looking at investing in big budget horror aimed at fans of the genre. This is something we really haven't seen in a while, and I'm hoping that this talent combined with a large budget can expand the horror fanbase and draw bigger talent to more projects.
