It's a great time to be a Resident Evil fan, with the recent release of the excellent Resident Evil Village, a new movie on the way, an anime series in July, and a new live-action series coming to Netflix! As part of Netflix's Geeked Week, the cast of the new series was announced and we have all the details:

CAST:

  • Lance Reddick (he/him) as ALBERT WESKER
  • Ella Balinska (she/her)
  • Tamara Smart (she/her)
  • Siena Agudong (she/her)
  • Adeline Rudolph (she/her)
  • Paola Nuñez (she/her)

From showrunner / executive producer / writer Andrew Dabb (Supernatural), executive producer / writer Mary Leah Sutton, executive producers Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben of Constantin Film, and producer Martin Moszkowicz (CEO, Constantin Film), the new series will premiere with 8 1-hour episodes. Here's the logline that doesn't give away much, but I am curious about the "three decade" callout and how this fits into the timeline for the games and upcoming movie:

"Nearly three decades after the discovery of the T-virus, an outbreak reveals the Umbrella Corporation’s dark secrets."
