While Hellboy fans are accustomed to seeing Ron Perlman play the titular character, David Harbour will don the sawed-off horns in the upcoming reboot directed by Neil Marshall. Ahead of the movie's expected release on April 12th, 2019, a new image from the film has been unveiled by Empire that gives fans a close look at Harbour's take on the iconic character.

Marshall is directing the new Hellboy movie from a screenplay co-written by Christopher Golden, Andrew Cosby, and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin, and Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson are producing the project.

In addition to Harbour in the title role, the new Hellboy movie will co-star Milla Jovovich as villainous sorceress known as the Blood Queen, with Ian McShane in the role of Professor Broom and Daniel Dae Kim playing Ben Daimio.

The new film is completely separate from 2004's Hellboy and 2008's Hellboy II: The Golden Army, which were directed by Guillermo del Toro and starred Ron Perlman in the titular role.

Speaking with Empire, Marshall said that the R-rated film is " more violent and more bloody. We weren’t making it with handcuffs on.”
