Ever since it was known that the theme would change every season, fans have suggested the carnival setting for American Horror Story. It was recently confirmed that they were getting their wish and we now know that the official Season 4 title is American Horror Story: Freak Show.

This was officially announced on Twitter by Ryan Murphy. While not too much detail has been given, AHS writer Douglas Petrie confirmed the new theme during the Nerdist Writers Panel podcast. He didn't elaborate much beyond the confirmation, but Ryan Murphy revealed earlier that the series will take place primarily in the 1950's. Murphy also teased that Jessica Lange "already started practicing her German accent."

As mentioned previously, Jessica Lange is the only confirmed cast member at this time and Season 4 will be her last. Other actors that appeared in past seasons are likely to make a return as well and we’ll report any casting news as soon as it comes in. Back in November, FX officially announced that American Horror Story would be back for a fourth season and confirmed it will once again contain thirteen episodes. An October premiere is expected.
