A new Tales from the Crypt TV series is currently in the planning stages and will be pitched to various networks in the near future. Deadline reports that Gil Adler, producer of the HBO Tales from the Crypt series, along with Andrew Cosby (Eureka) are developing an "hourlong series will neither be anthological nor related to the HBO show".

Andrew Cosby has said that it "will be an ongoing series that uses characters from the comic books in a more modern context,". Apparently there has been interest from HBO, but formal discussions with networks will begin shortly. We have no idea how they are going to tie all of this together into an ongoing series using characters from the comics, but the idea has piqued our interest. We'll report back as soon as more details are released.
