We're sad to report on the shocking news that Paul Walker died Saturday afternoon in a car crash. It was recently confirmed that he died as a passenger in a car accident, along with the driver, while attending a charity event for Reach Out Worldwide:

"It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. - #TeamPW"

Many of those who have worked with Paul have began reacting to his passing over social media, including Dwayne Johnson and James Wan, who were working with him on the latest Fast and Furious movie. Here's the official statement that came in from Universal:

"All of us at Universal are heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the FAST AND FURIOUS films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul’s family."

It's horrible anytime someone passes away, but it's even worse when it happens to someone so suddenly and at a young age. As an update to this story, it has also been confirmed that the driver was Roger Rodas, a friend of Paul Walker and the CEO of Always Evolving Performance Motors. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of Paul and Roger during this especially difficult time.
