In the early 1970's, Mego released their Mad Monster series of horror figures. Finding these figures in mint condition is rare and they sell for hundreds of dollars a piece on eBay. For some people, it isn't as much about the value as it is reliving their childhood and Figures Toy Company recently released a reproduction set of Mad Monster Figures, along with a Monster Castle playset:

"Mego Collectors, get ready. Figures Toy Company is about to release 8 inch Mad Monster Figures in our new removable clamshell packaging. These figures will have cloth clothing and 16 points of articulation. The Mad Monster Castle playset was replicated from an original 1974 Mad Monster Castle playset made by The Mego Toy Company. Mad Monster figures and playset are limited edition and will only see one production run. Mad Monster figures will retail for $14.99 each and the Mad Monster Castle playset will sell for $69.99 and only be available thru our websites www.classictvtoys.com , www.figurestoycompany.com and www.wrestlingsuperstore.com starting August 28th.

CFO Anthony Balasco states, “This will be the first time collectors will be able to afford and obtain a Mad Monster Playset that so closely resembles the original Mego playset that sells for over $800.00 when you can actually find one."
