Prometheus may not have lived up to the hype for many, but it performed well enough to merit a sequel and fans of the Alien universe are always hungry for more. Fox recently adding an "Untitled Ridley Scott Project" to their 2016 calendar made us think that Prometheus 2 was moving forward and it is now being reported that they've hired a new writer and filming could begin later this year.

The Wrap broke the news that Michael Green (Green Lantern, Blade Runner Sequel) has been hired to rewrite the sequel draft originally written by Jack Paglen (Transcendence). According to the report, the movie could begin production as early as this fall, will strive to be closer in tone and scares to Alien, and will include multiple David androids played by Michael Fassbender.

Currently, the movie has been given a March 4th, 2016 release date, but, as filming hasn't started, don't be surprised if that date changes. This is another very early report, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers posted on any developments.
