It didn't take long after the release of Paranormal Activity 4 for Paramount to confirm that they were moving forward another installment of the series. They mentioned an October release for Paranormal Activity 5, but the official date has now been set.

Mark your calendars for October 25th, 2013, as that's the date that Paranormal Activity 5 will hit theaters. Like the previous sequels, an early limited release is likely. Paranormal Activity 4 was also the first movie in the series to open on IMAX theaters and we wouldn't be surprised to see the next one take the same route.

That particular weekend isn't currently packed with new releases, except for The World's End, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Other movies that should be fighting for viewers that month include Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Star Wars: Episode III 3D, Oldboy, and The Seventh Son.

Like the previous sequels, don't expect plot or casting details until the middle of next year. It hasn't been revealed whether Paranormal Activity 3 and 4 directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman will return to the sequel, but we'll let readers know as soon as anything is announced.
