The release of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters was already pushed back significantly and now we have word of a minor release date change. While originally scheduled for release earlier this year and then moved to January 11th, 2013, it is being reported that the new date is January 25th, 2013. The reason for the date shift is that Paramount is interested in opening the movie in 3D and on IMAX.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters was directed by Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) and has been described as a “…a dark action movie that picks up with the fairy tale siblings years after the traumatic childhood incident has turned them into bounty hunters”. The film stars Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, Peter Stormare and Famke Janssen.
